Spanish for Activists! in Fresno, CA

    Spanish for Activists!

Please join us in a "Train the Trainers" session of Spanish for Activists. Learn some common Spanish phrases that will be helpful in canvassing, registering and communicating with Spanish speaking potential voters. This session will be specifically designed to train people who can then go on to train others in the Central Valley. Please bring anyone interested in training others in learning this valuable skill. We will have more sessions for those just interested in learning (not training) later on.

Commit to Flip Blue and Swing Left Voter Outreach

LetterWritingCampaign_graphic_(1).jpgCalling all Commit to Flip Blue activists in the Walnut Creek area who are ready to restore Democracy in 2020, starting with the special election in North Carolina’s 9th Congressional District!

We are starting up a new letter-writing program working with Swing Left. If we are to overcome gerrymandering and voter suppression, we need to target potential voters in Swing states, such as those who were registered but have since moved and have not yet re-registered to vote.

Swing Left has a letter writing campaign to urge these potential voters to vote or to register. If you wrote postcards you CAN do this; in fact, it is easier. You will personalize preprinted letters with the voter’s name and a one- or two-line message, then sign the letter and address the envelope. We will need your stamps! You can come and write letters for one hour or more, however long you would like.

Our first campaign will be to write GOTV letters for the Special Election in the North Carolina 9th Congressional District. Increasing voter turn out in North Carolina is one of Commit to Flip Blue’s target states for 2020. We start now. Later we will switch to writing to urge people to register and include voter registration forms in the letters. These campaigns are reputed to increase eventual voter turnout by 3%. That could be the margin of victory.
